Highland Elementary School Addition and Renovation
Americas Engineers Project
State-of-the-Art Two-Story Addition and Renovation Design
Americas Engineers, Inc. impressed and exceeded the expectations of the client and School Board at every turn on this elementary school addition and renovation. Americas Engineers, Inc. was tasked with relocating Administrative Offices, the Nurse’s Area, and the support staff for enhanced building security and more convenient access, while simultaneously eliminating the temporary classrooms, currently housing 80 students.
The limited space available for this project was a unique challenge. It was initially suggested that an addition could be located inside the courtyard, however keeping the courtyard in its existing condition was a must. Therefore, in order to keep as many mature trees as possible, while preserving the courtyard, AEI designed a 2-story plan with an elevator and new bell tower that school board members have described as “State-of-the-Art.”
"These designs are State-of-the Art, this is what the future of classroom design looks like."
